Definitions: “We/us/our” means Atlas Risk Management Limited

Regulation & Status

We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We act on your behalf as an independent insurance intermediary (broker) in the advising, arranging and servicing of insurance business.

Confidentiality & Data Protection Act

Unless required by law to make any disclosures all information supplied to us will be kept confidential and released only to insurers. Under the Data Protection Act 1998, you are entitled to a copy of your personal data held by us upon written request and the payment of a fee.

Disclosure

All information, statements and answers given are your responsibility and must be complete and correct. Failure to disclose any material fact may result in the invalidation of insurance cover. Material facts are matters or information which may affect an insurer’s decision to accept a proposal and must be disclosed at inception and throughout the duration of your policy. If you are unsure as to whether a fact is material please ask us for advice.

Quotations

All our quotations are non-binding. Underwriters cannot make formal offers until they receive fully completed proposal forms. Quotations are made net of Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) and Value Added Tax (VAT) where applicable.

Policy Terms

When a policy is issued you are advised to read it carefully; it is that document, the schedule, and the proposal form which forms the basis of your contract with the insurers. If you require clarification as to any of the terms, conditions and endorsements applicable, please contact us for advice.

Claims

It is essential that you notify us immediately of any circumstance which could give rise to a claim, including all the material facts. Your policy wordings will describe in detail the procedures and conditions in connection with making a claim.

Remuneration

We will be paid for arranging the insurance in the form of commission or brokerage paid to us by the insurers underwriting the insurance. We are also entitled to benefit from any earnings we are able to generate due to the amount of business placed with certain insurers and their underwriting performance, which are not identifiable to any specific client.

Complaints Procedure

We aim to offer a high standard of service. However, should you have any cause for complaint, please write to our Chairman at the Manchester address below. We undertake to acknowledge your complaint within five business days of receipt, and will nominate a Director to investigate, who will advise you when you can expect to receive a considered response which will be within 20 business days. Your insurer will also operate a complaints procedure, the details of which may be found in your policy documentation.

Governing Law

Atlas Risk Management Ltd undertakes its activities as an insurance intermediary in accordance with the Laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be governed by and construed in accordance with the Laws of England and Wales.

Our office hours are 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
